Bible - GTP

The Galilee Translation Project was funded over a number of years by the Springfield Church of Christ.  The goal was to translate the New Testament into Aramaic, the original language of people of the New Testament story.

The project was led by William Clark, who was living in Nazareth, Israel, as he labored over the translation.

In addition to completing the translation into Aramaic, Bill also created a new English language translation, which he entitled, The Holy New Covenant, which you can download by clicking here.  The download is a Word document, which is "read only."

Perhaps the hallmark of the translation is it's translation of the Greek word, agape, as "giving yourself to others for their good, expecting nothing in return."  The download includes an introduction which provides Bill's rationale for this translation of agape.

The text of this translation is available for free and may be freely copied and distributed so long as you do not alter it, do not charge for it, and give credit to the Galilee Translation Project.

Giving ourselves to others for their good, expecting nothing in return.
