Jesus spent considerable time serving the poor and needy with whom he came in contact. We as a church are committed to taking care of those within our congregation who have needs, and also to reaching out to those in the community who may be in need as well. A wide variety of services are available to the poor and needy in Northern Virginia. See the Northern Virginia Regional Commission Quick Guide for more information.

Special Benevolence Aid In 2009, the Northern Virginia Church of Christ blew out its special missions contribution. As a result, we were able to not only help out our sister churches in Indonesia, but to help out with the following:
- $10,000 was donated to HOPE to help Mark Ottenweiller with all his work in Africa.
- $10,000 was donated to our sister church in Manila, Phillipnes, to help provide relief after the area was devastated by two major typhoons. The following is a message from the lead evangelist of the Manila church:
Message from the Manila Church
I am in awe with how God is moving through the church there in Northern Virginia!
Thank you for your prayers and for your help. Your sacrifice is welling up in thanksgiving to our Lord and our hearts go out to you! Special thanks to all the disciples that have served here in the past. I pray that someday, I can personally thank you all for your support and love. I will keep you posted on things here as soon as possible.
Love, Koko
(Koko Enrile is the evangelist in the Manila Church)
